About this site

What's it all about? Beautiful women, that's what it's about. I draw women and want to share these drawings with you, dear reader. That's right, my intention here is to celebrate and indulge in the great reason for being alive that is lustful appreciation of the female form. Go away now if you think you'll be offended because you probably will be.

If you're still here, take a look at my Sketchbooks (the largest section of my site by far, 300 drawings and counting). These are a mixture of loose copies of pictures from my girlie mag collection and originals straight out of my fevered imagination. I have thousands of these drawings (no kidding) waiting to be scanned and I'm producing more all the time!

There's also a Colour Gallery, a small selection of bold and brash depictions of lovely ladyfolk made in the marker pen style that's setting the art world alight. This was originally intended to be the main body of the site but hasn't really developed... maybe I'll get back to it one day.

A few notes about my working methods for those who are interested. I sketch partly to hone my drawing skills (no straight lines in a human body after all), but also it gives me a great excuse to spend time looking at the fairer sex in loving detail. My favourite implements are 3B pencil and marker pen. I work quickly and don't correct any mistakes... I just move onto the next drawing because I think it's better to keep working and developing than to get bogged down fretting over an individual drawing. So naturally a lot of them don't come out right... the ones you see here are those that come out well. Copies from photos tend to be loose because I'm not overly concerned with photo-realism (well that's my excuse), I tend to guess parts of a picture as a challenge to myself. I seem to have several different styles... I don't consciously choose one or another when I'm working, the drawings just come out that way for some reason.

You can buy original drawings for reasonable prices... see my Sketchbook Shop. Prints aren't available at the moment. If you'd like to buy some let me know... if there's enough interest I'll get some made up.

I am available for commissions. And if you're a women (of any shape or size), you're based near London, England and you'd like to model for a Pappy drawing get in touch (and I have a girlfriend, don't worry). And if you like my drawings, or have any comments, please write and tell me. My email address is pappyharris@hotmail.com

At some point soon I hope to put together Pappy Harris Holds Forth, a collection of articles in which I will expound my dumb views on subject matter pertaining to this noble pursuit (but I've been saying this for years, so don't hold your breath).

Budding artists wanting source material for their own creative efforts or looking for other artists working in a similar vein can check out a bunch of free websites (and a few classy pay sites), as well as the sites of in my Links section.

Updates to this site usually happen at least once a month so if you like what I do and want to be informed whenever there's new material added to the site, join my mailing list by writing to the email address below.

Before I go, a word of thanks to the cartoonists who have been my major inspiration and who showed me it was okay to do this stuff in the first place... in particular Robert Crumb, Coop, and Robert Williams. And to all the lovely women who've posed for pics in mags over the years - and all those pervy photographers too!

Best wishes to you all!

Pappy Harris
